Site Engineer – Substation Project (County Kerry)
Location: Tarbert, Co. Kerry
Sector: Power Generation / Energy / Civil Infrastructure
Start: Enabling works underway; full construction commencing later in 2025
We are currently seeking a Site Engineer to join a landmark energy infrastructure project in County Kerry. This 300MW flexible power facility will operate on 100% sustainable biofuels, with the potential to convert to hydrogen in the future — supporting Ireland’s energy security and long-term decarbonisation targets.
This is an excellent opportunity to be part of a nationally significant project focused on sustainable power generation.
Key Responsibilities:
Setting out, surveying, and assisting with site supervision during enabling and full construction phases
Liaising with subcontractors, suppliers, and the wider delivery team to ensure effective coordination
Interpreting technical drawings and specifications
Maintaining accurate site records and assisting with reports, progress tracking, and method statements
Supporting compliance with health, safety, environmental, and quality standards
Contributing to the project’s sustainability and environmental goals in line with RED II standards
Requirements:
Degree-qualified in Civil, Structural, or Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent)
2–5 years’ experience in a similar role on infrastructure or energy projects
Strong technical and setting out skills, with proficiency in AutoCAD and surveying equipment
Good working knowledge of construction methods and health and safety regulations
Effective communication and coordination skills
Full clean driving licence
